THE ROLE
The WMS Consultant is responsible for providing end-to-end support in Warehouse Management System (WMS) implementation, configuration, and presales activities. The role focuses on delivering offshore consulting services to global clients, ensuring alignment between system functionalities and business requirements. The consultant will also support the presales team in solution design, product demonstrations, and proposal development to secure new business opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. WMS Implementation and Support
· Configure, test, and deploy WMS solutions based on client requirements.
· Analyze business processes and recommend WMS configurations or enhancements to optimize warehouse operations.
· Provide post-implementation support, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance monitoring.
· Coordinate with onshore consultants and client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of offshore project tasks.
· Maintain detailed project documentation, including configuration logs, user guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
2. Presales Support
· Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to understand client needs and translate them into WMS solution proposals.
· Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept configurations for potential clients.
· Assist in creating detailed proposals, including scope definitions, timelines, cost estimates, and value propositions.
· Respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) with accurate and persuasive technical content.
· Participate in customer discovery calls to assess pain points and recommend suitable WMS solutions.
3. Offshore Coordination and Communication
· Act as a key offshore liaison for clients and onshore teams, ensuring seamless communication and task execution.
· Manage time zone differences effectively and provide timely updates and reports on assigned deliverables.
· Support multiple client projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality output.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
· Minimum of 3–5 years experience in WMS implementation, configuration, or support
· At least 1–2 years exposure to presales activities such as client demos, requirement scoping, or proposal preparation.
· Experience working with offshore/onshore delivery models and international clients.
Technical Skills:
· Strong knowledge of WMS functionalities: receiving, putaway, picking, replenishment, inventory control, and shipping.
· Familiarity with ERP/WMS integration, barcode scanning solutions, and RF device configurations.
· Understanding of SQL queries, data mapping, and system testing.
· Proficiency in preparing functional design documents and user manuals.
Soft Skills:
· Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively across distributed teams.
· High attention to detail and commitment to service quality.
Work Schedule:
This is a hybrid work arrangement requiring onsite presence three days per week. Candidates should be flexible and open to working night shifts, as needed.
